IIM's are top-notch and brand name for doing MBA but it depends upon which IIM you go for. the fee structure of IIM is higher than IIT and some IIT are better than newer IIM and the return on investment is better in IIT. also some iit colleges have their alias name in the list like iit bombay, madras etc

Although both of these colleges are amongst the top colleges in the world and both of these provide MBA courses however, IIMs are developed for the sole purpose of training students for the management world and this they are better suited for pursuing MBA whereas the atmosphere of IITs is more technology oriented which favours engineers.
