MSc applied chemistry is a better option because you will have a wider knowledge of all the branches of chemistry.Applied chemistry has an industrial slant while pure chemistry is a study of chemistry without reference to immediate applications.

It would be much easier for you to choose better career options as well as your research interests in a particular branch of chemistry if you take applied chemistry.No one will restrict you from teaching if you have opt for applied chemistry.
