Both are same . It is just to make the examination system better it will provide you a chance to score better and face the same entrance exam twice a year so that you can correct your mistakes many a time in life we don't get such opportunities even the students who have appeared till 2018 doesn't get this opportunity so I will suggest you to appear in both exams . Marks will be the best of two

Dear Islam

Islam both are same infact only the difference is in the length of duration between both the session. It's a good thing for the JEE aspirant from the NTA authorities that from next year onwards they are going to conduct the two sessions of JEE mains that is in the month of January and in April. So it will be better if you write both the attempts such that among both the best score you can be enter into the good Institution.

The JEE mains is decided to conduct the exams twice in an year so It is the good opportunity to write both the exams I can suggest you to write both the exams it is my suggestion
According to your question I think April is better because you may get more time to prepare
