On the other hand What if a person’s lungs or heart is not functioning properly? This is when perfusion technology comes handy! In such cases, in order to maintain proper perfusion, a Heart-Lung machine is used!

Heart-Lung machine is usually used during cardiac surgery or other surgeries that require cardiopulmonary bypass to manage the patient’s physiological status.

Such surgeries are carried out by a team of skilled Doctors. The team usually consists of cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, operation theater technicians and perfusionists. The main task of a perfusionist is to configure and operate the Heart-Lung machine.

Hello,

Critical care technologist is a more better option to go with, as compared to perfusion technologist

On finishing this critical care technology course you can easily be placed in the critical care industry. You can work in hospitals in ICUs, emergency rooms, trauma centres and similar healthcare settings requiring emergency and critical care. Hospitals working in both the private and public sector will be in need of your services. Other places to look for employment are government hospitals, military hospitals, railway hospitals and so on. You can undertake a post graduate program like M.Sc in critical care technology. You may also get to do research work in the field by opting for a doctoral program.

Hope this helped.

Good luck!
