Hey

Among given compounds, ethylene glycol ( HOCH2CH2OH ) is themost soluble in water. Ethylene glycol has two hydroxy groups both of which form hydrogen bonds withwater. Greater is the number of hydrogen bonds, greater is the extent of hydrogen bonding and greater is thesolubility in water.

The overall solvation capacity of a solvents depend upon primarily on it's polarity . Ex : A hydrophilic solute such as urea is very highly soluable in polar water and insoluable in non polar solvent.
