Four IITs offer Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering. Every student doing Aerospace at an IIT will give his/her own perspective, so you'll have to take into account the facilities and which college does research in areas that interests you.

Every one of these IITs have wind tunnel facility, Aerodynamics lab, Propulsion lab, Structures lab. So taking these common labs out, Ive listed the core areas where they research.

I've been to three of these IITs and heres my personal opinion.

IIT Kanpur: If you are for aircrafts,UAVs and drones; this is the right place for you. They have an airstrip, a UAV modelling lab, a Fabrication lab and people who research in these areas. If you walk down the lanes of IITK, I am sure youll atleast see one object in the air, let it be a UAV, a cessna, a quad, a mini Helicopter, a glider. Dont forget the National wind tunnel facility.

IIT Madras: This is the place you want to go if you know more knowledge about rockets and stuff. They have a good facility for Launch dynamics study, acoustic vibrations of launch pad, damping of vibrations and stuff.

IIT Kharagpur : IITKGP deals with mostly computers of the Aerospace field. They have good research going on the control systems, and programming part of the Aerospace field.

And if you have the option of IIST, then please join IIST, I cant stress this enough but its one of the best Aerospace Engineering colleges in Asia. Youll by default get placed in ISRO once you graduate from IIST, and their facilities are above par, much better than the IITs.
