the best part of an IIT is getting into it. Approximately 10 lakh students apply every year to compete for IIT and only 10,000 gets their dreams come true. It passes through several filter until the final part. And it takes immense hard work to get through. Not to mention that apart from students , coaching institute too compete to bring up the top ranker. 

And once you get into an IIT, the life still don't stop as now you have to compete with the students of this country
