Hi,

The C-14 isotope is used to predict the age of archaeological findings. It is an isotope of carbon.

The radioactive disintegration of isotope C-14 occurs through a first order kinetics and half life of this isotope is 5,730 years. As all the organic archaeological findings have carbon in them this is a suitable for finding the age.

Hope this helps.
