Respected sir/madam, at the rank of about 4 lakhs that to in general category. It is going to be very difficult to get into any NIT. It is almost impossible, the only case in which that can happen is, if you home state quota in some of the north eastern states or maybe if a not so popular NIT opens a new branch that is not so relevant as of now say for example "Agricultural engineering". All is not lost though, as a good percentage of engineering seats in India always go empty. So you can definitely get admission in some other college at that rank.
