In each IIT during application process, you can see what all MTechs are open for you. Or, if you have a specific MTech in mind, check out page of that dept to see whether you qualify with this MSc and GATE paper.
Msc is considered equivalent to B.Tech so according it is important for you to even pass the gate exam to get into an IIT or NIT.
