Hello,
If a candidate appear for JEE Main session 1 and session 2 then the best of two sessions will be considered for Merit List/ Ranking. For example if you have score 90 percentile in session 1 and 85 percentile in session 2 then the percentile scored in session 1 will be considered for ranking as it is the highest percentile. If a candidate appears for only one session then the marks scored in that session will be considered for ranking/merit list. Candidates qualifying in JEE Main will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. Not every candidate is eligible to appear for JEE Advanced there is a specific cut off percentile specified by NTA every year candidates scoring the minimum percentile marks either in session 1 or session 2 will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced.
