It is an autonomous institute established under the Ministry of Tourism's Grants in Aid Scheme. IHM Dehradun which is regulated by a governing body and is registered with the state government society. The college offers good placements. Every student is given a chance to attend the interview of any hotel chain or association which they want. Students who do not get selected at once can opt for some other hotel chains.
