Both the exams are hard, if you are not prepared and both the exams are easy, if you are.

GATE and CAT are two completely different exams belonging to different streams so, I think comparing them is not a good idea.

If you want to prepare for either of the exams, follow a routine, study and practice the syllabus thoroughly, take coaching (if you think you need it), revise your syllabus thoroughly after preparation, practice sample papers and take up the exam with all the confidence in you.
