In order to score 97 percentile in JEE mains, your marks should be in between 120-150. In Jan 2020 the student securing a percentile of 97.65 had rank 18k. The percentile was between 140-150 in April 2020. So mostly your score should be 120+ in order to attain 97 percentile.

The marks depends on several factors to determine percentile, such as the difficulty of the paper and performance of the students.
