As told by a VIT Counselor, The only possibility of getting admission in your desired branch at VIT UNIVERSITY is through managment quota.

There are limited number of seat for each branch say 1000 in CSE Vellore campus. So what VIT does is It has categories like :

Category 1: fee around 1.98 lakhs seats 500

Category 2: fee around 3.07 lakhs seats 250

Category 3: fee around 3.95 lakhs seats 150

Category 4: fee around 4.75 lakhs seats 100

CSE usually gets closed at 40000 and thus it is very difficult and highly unlikely that you'll get admission in that. 

Although you might be able to get in Civil Engineering through 2nd or 3rd category. 

You should not dishearten yourself. There are still many engineering colleges and the lists for VIT are yet come out. You might not be able to get in your preference but there is a chance that you might be able to get in some category.
