Dear Aspirant,

You can read about the fields below and decide for yourself, what you support.

As you may be aware of, Astronautical engineering is a field that allows individuals to engage in tasks that have a reputation for being done by highly intellectual individuals as the subject matter involves challenging academic subjects.

Astronautical engineers or aerospace engineers are responsible for monitoring the proceedings of developing an aircraft and aerospace products such as communication satellites, direct broadcasting satellites, rockets space launchers, missiles, space vehicles, space navigational systems, reconnaissance satellites, and remote sensing satellites. By using the specific engineering principles, they design products that meet quality standards, are in agreement to the safety of the environment, and that meet the customer's requirements. Astronautical engineers should also be able to detect any malfunction in developed products.

Electronics & Communication Engineering deals with basic electronics, analog and digital transmission & reception of data, electronic devices, circuits, communication equipments like transmitter, receiver, integrated circuits ,satellite communication, microwave engineering, antennae and wave progression. The skills involved in the profession like analysis, systems implementation, operation, production, and maintenance of the various applications are necessary for a ECE engineer to be equipped with.

After the completion of the degree, the following are jobs that one can look upto:

1.They are employed in variety of sectors such as Defence, Research and Development, Indian Telephone Industries, Hardware manufacturing,Aviation, NPL, Railways, Telecommunication, Software Engineering/IT, Power sector etc.

2. These are the following job titles

a)Electronics and Communication Engineer:This work is mainly targeted to consolidate electronics, conceptualize the communication network framework

b)Field Test Engineer:The field test engineer makes sure that the product is tested properly to eliminate all the issues before it comes into the market.

c)Electronics Design & Development Engineer: It involves the design and development of a product.

d)System Control Engineer: The engineer brings stability to the constantly changing systems to produce the desired outcome.

e)Network Planning Engineer: Determines the organizational network.

f)Customer Support Engineer: Assists the customer in any electronic troubleshooting difficulty

g)Service Engineer,Sotware Analyst and Technical Director.

Hope this helps. All the best!

There is no doubt that electronics and communication engineering is far better than aeronautical and aerospace engineering the reasons are following

Electronics and communication is a core engineering branch and find numerous application in wide range of industries whereas if you consider aeronautical and aerospace engineering it is very specific and has a narrow scope.

The other aspect are  electronics and communication engineering by appearing for GATE exam you can join PSU by securing a good rank which is certainly not an benefit in aeronautical and aerospace

If you consider private sector then also there are lot of industries which require electronics and communication engineers its semiconductor industry , telecom companies are many other you may find many electronic items around you and many of which are using communication in private sector also the job market is huge
