The selection process by merit or entrance exam depending upon the college.Students should obtain minimum percentage 50% for general and for others 45%. For UGC Net is divided into two sessions, Session 1 will General paper on teaching and research aptitude. This session common and mandatory  for all candidates. In this part ten units are included : teaching aptitude, Research aptitude, comprehension, , communication ,mathematical reasoning and aptitude, logical reasoning, Data interpretation, information and communication technology,people development and environment, Higher education system.
