Hello Vivek

According to me VTU is best.

Let me clear something first. Autonomous colleges are colleges that are affiliated to some university (most colleges are affiliated to VTU) but form their own syllabus and conduct their own exam. The degree however is still awarded by VTU. Most other colleges follow the VTU syllabus and exam. Now as per the choice I think it's a personal choice. Autonomous colleges are often difficult to get into if you are rankings are average. But assuming you are eligible for both each has advantages and disadvantages. With VTU the pros are:

1. Good enough syllabus to keep students engaged (although it depends on how it's taught).

2. Satisfaction in your results if you did well knowing that you faced better competition and stricter standards

CONS

1. Horrible evaluation in exams (you will be able to understand this better when you look at the number of revaluations applied every year)

With autonomous Colleges generally students find it real hard to fail. It's bad for business so everyone gets a good score. This however means you have lesser chances of standing out in the crowd. But a great option to students who are not very serious about studies.

Placements after the degree largely depends on individual colleges and not on the way exams are conducted ( because everyone gets the same degree from VTU. Autonomous or Not)

So it's a personal choice.

I have genrelised here and there are always exceptions so understand the circumstances before jumping to any conclusions.

Everything is based on my experiences and my friends experiences as well as the insight my father shared with me as a member of the executive council in VTU as well as a member of several accedemic senates and syllabus forming committees for different autonomous colleges

Hope it helps

Thank you

HELLO VIVEK,

vtu has a standard syllabus though it is tough. Job opportunity is better if u r a vtu student. autonomous is easy compared to vtu syllabus. but apart from that, the question paper is set and corrected by the college itself. which is not fair i believe but you will get good marks as your college is going to set question but it do not value much when compared to VTU syllabus

thank you hope it was helpful and all the best for your bright future

Hey!

Autonomous are the colleges which are affiliated to some other universities (most of them are affiliated to vtu) but still they form their own syllabus and conduct their own exams. However, degree is provided by vtu. But According to me VTU is better compared to autonomous. Since VTU is upgrading its syllabus according to the requirement of the market or to the new technology and students also get vast knowledge about the subject or the course which they are studying.

Thank you
