Solution : The correct answer is the Open-file table.

The Open File Table holds details of all open files while the operating system is functioning. It consists of the elements MAX_OPENFILE_NUM.

The Open system call creates an entry in the Open file table when a process opens a file. If the file is opened again by some other process (or the same process), the Open system calls a new entry created in the open file table. The first field (Inode Index) of the Open file table entry for a file is set to the index of the Inode Table entry for the file. Each entry is of size 4 words of which the last word is left unused.
