Aerospace engineering is a study intensive field. If you choose to go into this field, it is best that you prepare yourself for a long study period - bachelors, masters and probably a Phd too.

After bachelors, it is quite questionable about the opportunities in core field. However, on completion of higher degrees, this field is really awesome and you definitely get to work with many enthusiastic, ambitious and capable people. The work itself is very interesting and rewarding.

IIST is the best. Then comes IITs. Other than that PEC and BESU is good in terms of faculty input. I am not aware of which NITs have this branch.
