IFS is all about maintaining diplomacy ,drafting, managing and formulation of foreign policy .

For this you need not do specialisation but if you want then Degree with subjects like International Relations , foreign policy would have an edge !!

But it is your choice

A piece of advice - Choose subject(s) according to the Optional subject you'd opt for in UPSC CSE, or vice-versa.
