Hi there

IG or the Immunoglobulins are classified into five categories:

  • IgA,
  • IgD,
  • IgE,
  • IgM.

Their function is that:-
  • they help help to identify foreign substances that enter our body
  • They destroy foreign substances entering our body like microbes i.e bacteria, protozoan parasites and viruses
  • Thus, they play an important role in the immune response
