Dear student,

MDU or Maharshi Dayanand University was established as Rohtak University, Rohtak. It was rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977. The University secured the recognition of University Grants Commission – the higher education regulatory body of India - for central Govt. grants in February 1983.
Kurukshetra University was established on 11 January 1957 by Bharatratna Dr Rajendra Prasad, the first President of the Indian Republic. The University has 445 teaching faculty members. The University also has 457 affiliated colleges and institutes in the Districts of Ambala, Panipat, Kaithal, Yamuna Nagar, Hisar, Fatehabad, Jind, Karnal, Sirsa, Kurukshetra and Panchkula.
