You must have at least two different references for the Scholarship. Your referees can be people who can comment on your worth to recieve this prestigious Scholarship. They should be knowing you for a sufficient time so that they can describe your abilities, skills, intrapersonal qualities and other aspects of your academic as well as social personality. Those whom you choose as your referees should know you either academically or professionally. They should not be relatives or your friends. You can guide your referees to the guidance section on the Chevening Scholarship official website as it contains information related to what should be included in reference letters. Note that the references should be written in English language.

Your references should cover  the following details

1.Your contact details

2. How long you (referees) have known the candidate ?

3. In what capacity does the referee know the candidate?

4. When did the referee had the last regular contact eith candidate?

5. An overall endorsement of the candidate which shall include candidate's skills and leadership quality. It also should include candidate's personal, academic and intellectual qualities. Candidate's abilities to study and complete the demanding academic courses in UK.
