The surgical instruments are pretty cheap since the only thing you will be doing is dissection. What is expensive are the microtomes to make thin slices of wax embedded specimens, and the microscope(s) to look at the slides. The rest is just tables, workbenches, lights, a vented hood for pathogenic work, reagents, and stains.
