There are a total of eight institutions listed in the Schedule to the Central Educational Institutions Act that have been exempted from the purview of the EWS reservations. These include the minority educational institution, institutes of excellence, research institutions, institutes of national and strategic importance. Also, the North Eastern India Gandhi Regional Institute of  Health and Medical Sciences, Shillong also fall outside the purview of the EWS reservations. And so does BCECE does not provide this reservation.
