B.Sc courses have now become of 4 years because of the implementation of New Education Policy (NEP 2020). Earlier, a B.Sc degree was of only 3 years but now students have both the options i.e. complete all 4 years and get a B.Sc Honours degree or exit after 3rd year and get only a B.Sc degree.

So you basically have an exit option after 3rd year which you can use to complete the 3 year degree. The only difference between both is that after 3 years you will get a B.Sc degree while after 4 years, you will get a B.Sc Honours degree.

Bsc course duration is 3 year including 6 semesters generally but according to new education policy it is of 4 year from 2020 , in the 4th year you are being prepared for specialization,  research,  or advance studies about the same , and it also helps student to do better but in some colleges they follow 3 year program only .
