Hello,

Oak was a programming language which was developed by James Gosling in 1991 . He named the language as Oak after an oak tree that stood beside his office . But later the name was changed to Java as the name Oak was used by Oak Technologies in 1994 . Gosling wanted to improve C++ and develop a new language so he named it as Oak but later it was changed to Java .

Hope this helps you .
