It was anticipated that cutoffs would decrease drastically in 2nd round which was the general case every year but the scenario has changed this year and I believe the following to be the reason for the same :

1. Bits counselling this year is a tad bit more conscious and slow to avoid a scenario like last year where few seats were not filled properly according to the demand.
