You have not mentioned the course name for which you are seeking admission details and also College name in which you want admission in that particular course.

So, in general for direct admission, no need to write entrance exam. Direct admission is taken on basis of merit obtained in qualifying exam or for filling management quota seats in most of the Colleges for many courses. The criteria may vary from course to course and College to College.
