Hello candidate,
The percentile is decided on the basis of marks, so both of them are considerable and important, but when JEE declares the cut off lists it's on the basis of rank, every year 2.24 lakh students qualify for JEE advanced, to secure your chances you have to score above 80 percentile or score above 135 marks.
