Comprehensive Guide: IIT's | NIT's | IIIT's
Hello gautam
You need to score atleast more than 100 marks then you can get a NIT and if you score more than 130+ you can get computer science in north east NITs may be in spot round, or you can get a good bran of engineering with these marks.
NITs are second best colleges after IITs ,so there are lot of applicants who try for NIT and hence the cutoffs are high for NITs as well.
I hope it helps.
B.Tech/B.Arch Admissions OPEN
The chances of getting nit with these score is quite less in obc category. You may get a college in the last round up of counselling of jossa but you may not get your preferred branches like computer science or mechanics.
For obc category to get nit you should score something above 150 or 170 and if you want comp sci then must be in range of 200. So you can try your best in April again in jee 2.
All the best.
Use the JEE Main 2026 Rank Predictor to estimate your expected rank based on your scores or percentile and plan your college options smartly.
With 85-100 marks out of 300 marks, you can expect a percentile of 93-96. At this percentile, your rank (AIR) will be around 40000-70000. At this rank, you can get a decent NIT college (also being in the OBC is a plus point which will increase your chances of getting admission into an NIT.)
