No, you dont need to write NATA to opt architecture engineering.

Hii asha,

Yes, you can opt for architecture without writing NATA but you must qualify in the other examination required by other colleges like UPSEE conducts it's own architecture entrance. But without appearing in any of the architecture entrance, it is not possible.
