Escherichia coli is a prokaryotic bacteria. It has a great importance when Biology is concerned. Most strains of this bacteria are harmless but some can make you sick. They are cosmopolitan and even found in intestine of human. The bacteria can cause infection and diseases such as - diarrhoea, urinary tract infection respiratory illness, pneumonia, and other illness. To elaborate the description, you can include the reproductive process in E.coli and its uses in genetics and biotechnology.
