TIR is Total International Reflection is a phenomenon in which there is complete reflection of ray of light within a medium from the surrounding surface back into the initial medium.

There are two conditions which must be met for TIR to occur:

1.The light ray must travel from denser medium to lesser medium

2. The angle of incidence of the light ray must be greater than critical angle of the interface
