Government has assigned different classes in different group and use short denotions like OBC, SC,ST etc.

So OBC Or BC-Backward Caste

SC- Scheduled Caste

ST- Scheduled Tribe

EWS-Economically weaker section

GL-General

UR-UnReserved

GL-Girl quota

BC sometimes may conduct for OBC reserved category and if c g is really have something meant it may be for subcategory under OBC. It is not related with gender as far as i am concerned rest depends on the entrance exam or course for which you have applied.
