How can I prepare for JEE Main after11th?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 25th Oct, 2018
Hello,

Jee is considered one of the toughest exams of India.

Just start with the syllabus
1. Analyse the syllabus wholly.
2. Highlight the topics which you haven't read yet, and start with them
3. Make a routine and divide the timing for the three subjects.
4. If you are in 11th, everything would seem to be very new to you. So start with a basic book, I would suggest for the very recommended NCERT  for physics and chemistry.
For maths, practice from r.d Sharma or RS Agarwal.
5. After completion of every chapter, you practice the DDP and study material of any good coaching or else, practice previous years question s.

For physics, i would recommend you to study and practice D.C Pandey.
For chem, ncert +RC Mukherje(physical) , I think that would be enough .

After, completing your syllabus, probably in the month of Dec, start giving me test series of a good institute.

Remember, consistency+ hard work is all what you require to crack any exam.

Goodluck

What is a syllabus for a comed-k exam? Which publication book should I have to use?

ruchika.chauhan Expert 25th Oct, 2018

Hello,
The syllabus and questions in COMEDK UGET paper are based on the syllabus of class 11th/ 12th of Karnataka state board.  You should prepare well for your class 11th and 12th exams. Also, focus on to make your basic concepts fundamentally clear.
You can also recommend other books such as -
Chemistry for Karnataka CET and COMEDK by Dr. Somar Maruti H.
Physics for CET and COMEDK by S. Dashrathi
Physics for Karnataka CET and COMEDK by BASE (2nd edition)
Mathematics for Karnataka CET and COMEDK by BASE

You can go through the link below for the detailed syllabus of the COMEDK- UGET exam-

I little worried about physics for jee main because of narrowing our preparation to only ncert and last year papers

Shivam Gautam 24th Oct, 2018
Dear Kishan

No need to worry about the Physics part in JEE mains , if you have completed your preparation of Physics with NCERT and last year papers then it is good and if you are interested to move on HCV or I E IRODOV then it will be good otherwise not an issue try to solve various mock test of JEE mains from different coaching institutes like  Allen, Resonance , FIITJEE etc such that your confidence will get boosten up. And overall believe on yours preparation rather than the toughness of the Physics part in JEE mains.

All the best

Is it essential to prepare separately for JEE MAIN or we can prepare along with chapters done in our college.and how to prepare daily forJEE

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 24th Oct, 2018
Hello,

Preparation for jee can not be completely related to your chapters done in college. You need to an extra mile to achieve something different. So, you cany rely on it.Though you can take ideas from that too.JEE preparation should he according to past year questions and jee pattern.
Preparation for any competitive exam should be consistent and continuous. You have to be very desciplined and honest to yourself im terms of your preparation. Give time as much as you can.
Stay away from distractions and always be positive.Surround yourself with people the motivate you.Stay disconnected from social media for sometime.

I hope this helps.

how to crack gate with in 4 months

Azim Shaikh 23rd Oct, 2018
The month of September is over and now only 4 months are left for GATE. In this article, I wish to let you all know how you can best utilize these last 4 months before the GATE exam. Let us first consider the different stages that students might be at right now. As far as I can understand, there can be 3 types of students at this point:

1. Those who have started preparation and have complete less than 3 subjects

2. Those who have started and have completed 5-6 subjects.

3. Those who have not started the preparation at all.

Let us first consider those who have started their preparation some time back and have completed 2-3 subjects. So, the first step that you need to take is to make a schedule for the next 4 months in which you can cover most of the remaining subjects (if not all). But at the same time you need to start revision in parallel for already covered subjects. So, the target in the next 4 months should be:

Cover almost 80% of the course by the end of December or first week of January.

Revise the already covered subjects in parallel.

Start with the subject tests and give subject test whenever you cover one subject or you revise a subject.

Once you have covered the targeted course and have done revision as well you can give almost 15-20 mock tests in the month of January in which the aim must be to get maximum marks in the portion that you have covered. Do not be bothered about the course that you have left.

Set practical targets based on your capability and the time that you can dedicate for preparation and do not worry if you have to leave certain portion of the course.

Give priority to subjects based on weightage in GATE exam.

Now let us move onto those people who have covered 5-6 subjects till now. First of all, you guys are on the right track and well done for the work till now. But we have to take care that this intensity is not dimmed in the coming months but we have to increase the enthusiasm because if you can keep us this spark for 4 more months then you may achieve your dreams so always have eyes on target when you feel down and low. Now let us see the steps that you can follow in the next 4 months.

Set aside separate time slots for revision and covering the left over course.

Do not think about leaving any topics yet because you guys can still complete 100% course.

Make sure that you attempt almost previous 15 year GATE questions so that you are well aware about the kind of questions that are generally asked.

Be in the limits of the GATE course. Do not go overboard because that can waste a lot of precious time.

Make sure that you see all the possible type of questions that can be asked from a particular topic.

Start attempting test series but do not be bothered too much about performance in Subject Tests because some questions are out of GATE scope but do learn from your mistakes.

Start attempting mock tests once you are done with 8-9 subjects and check your performance in the subjects that you have covered.

Lastly let us discuss about those who have not started GATE preparation yet. Though you guys are late so I cannot promise that you will be able to get a top rank but still I will tell you what is the best that you can do in these months.
First of all make a priority list of subjects based on weightage in GATE papers in the last 5 years so while checking the weightage do not go till 1990s gate papers.

Then consider those subjects which can be easily covered within minimum possible time and have significant weightage in GATE exam.

Try and complete at least 60% of GATE syllabus but study only relevant portions in each subject.

Be problem oriented that you can solve each type of problem from a particular topic that can be asked in GATE.

Do not bother too much about the topics that have not been asked in GATE and the type of questions that are not generally asked in GATE.

Try and attain perfection in whatever you study so that you can aim to get 100% marks in the section that you know.

Try and complete at least 5 mock tests before you sit in GATE exam.

I hope you all can get started with the next phase of your preparation and go well in GATE exam.

Thanks,
Azim Shaikh
