preparation tips for GATE 2018 :
1. set up daily goals and reach the targets.
2. know the complete detailed syllabus of GATE 2019 and then plan your sschedule for preparation accordingly .
3.it is advicable to focus on completing the gate syllabus between july-november and after november practice sample papers and previous year question papers .
4. study standard books
5. solve as many sample papers as possible
6.take online mock tests
7.the success rate will be higher when , one consistently studies .
8.there may be areas where you get stuck . in such cases online coaching is not the only option you can plan something like group studies to discuss and clarify your doubts
9. prepare short notes to remember formulae
10. revision is a must
11. most important , stay motivated and determined

Hello Aman, See as you are planning for NDA which you can give once you clear 12th (12th pursuing candidate are also allowed to give NDA). So would suggest to go through last 10 years question paper and try to understand the question pattern and type of query they ask. As per latest rules, people who have not taken biology as a core subject for two years (11th and 12th) are not eligible to give NEET. So no, you are not eligible but keep yourself updated in case the rule changes.
