Dear Aspirant,
It depends upon how good your basics are. If you have decent basics then 6 months period is enough. However, if you do not have a good and clear base then you might be needed some more than that.
For engineers, it is considered that 6 months period is enough. Try to get your basics clear in the first two months and then join a good mock series in the month of August. Give your mocks consistently and analyze them.

Students generally start preparing for GATE after 2nd year. But it's not necessary, you can start before or after that. The logic behind that is, that you get 2 years to study, and prepare for the exam, and another year if you want to re-attempt. Even if you don't want to join a class for GATEs, I think you should still go and enquire in a class, about the process in detail, they can solve all your doubts easily and for free because it's their business, and then you might even want to join the class based on the information. Coming to your question I would like to tell you that yes you can study in the amity and simultaneously prepare for the clat exam ,the only thing is that you have to just arrange your schedule accordingly seeing the college timing and clat preparation time and stick to it then you can do well and excel in your clat exam ,

Well, after analyzing your situaton, I would recommend you to have
1. Better grip over the formaulas which are commonly used. Might be you are slipping with formaulas that's why you are not clicking with the solution by yourself
2. To pay more attention at your coaching classes. Many good teachers, tells you the tricks or tips of finding the appropriate method by observing the question.
3. To give more time to your preparation. Generally, these problems arises in the start of your JEE studies as brain is not habitual to analyze the stuff bit deeply. I would recommend you to be patient and devoted to your preparation, as sooner or later you will be solve the complex problems at no time

Nothing is Impossible, It tooks 8 months to 1 year to Crack the neet Exam, but condition is that, if you give this time with quality. Here are some important points to keep in mind while preparing for neet Work hard with consistency : You need to study 2 year syllabus in one year.
