as a ward of defence and with snap percentile of 62, can i get a GD-PI call from SIMS ?

Sakshi Badoni 9th Jan, 2025

Hello Greetings

As a ward of defence, you may be eligible for a concession in the admission process at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS). However, the GD-PI call is based on various factors, including your SNAP percentile, academic performance, and work experience.

SNAP Percentile and GD-PI Call

A SNAP percentile of 62 is a decent score, but it may not guarantee a GD-PI call from SIMS. The institute typically shortlists candidates with higher percentiles, usually above 70-75.

Defence Quota

As a ward of defence, you may be eligible for a concession in the admission process. SIMS has a defence quota, which reserves a certain percentage of seats for wards of defence personnel. However, this quota is subject to certain conditions and eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the defence quota, you'll need to meet the following conditions:

1. *Defence personnel*: Your parent/spouse should be a serving or retired defence personnel.

2. *Certificate*: You'll need to produce a certificate from the defence authorities, confirming your parent's/spouse's defence background.

3. *SNAP registration*: You should have registered for SNAP and applied to SIMS under the defence quota.

GD-PI Call

While your SNAP percentile of 62 may not guarantee a GD-PI call, your defence quota eligibility may improve your chances. SIMS may consider your application under the defence quota and shortlist you for the GD-PI process.

Next Steps

To increase your chances of getting a GD-PI call, make sure to:

1. *Apply under the defence quota*: Ensure that you've applied to SIMS under the defence quota and provided the required certificate.

2. *Meet the eligibility criteria*: Verify that you meet the eligibility criteria for the defence quota.

3. *Prepare for GD-PI*: Prepare for the GD-PI process by practicing your communication skills, staying updated on current events, and preparing your resume and SOP.

Keep in mind that the GD-PI call is subject to the institute's discretion, and meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee a call.

I passed class 12 in 2023 than can i give jee mains attempt of 2026

Syed Ali 8th Jan, 2025

No, you cannot give the JEE Main 2026 attempt if you passed your Class 12th in 2023. As per the eligibility criteria for JEE Main:

  1. A candidate can appear for JEE Main in the year of passing Class 12th and the next two consecutive years.

    • For example, if you passed in 2023 , you are eligible for JEE Main 2023, 2024, and 2025 .
  2. After 2025, you will no longer be eligible for JEE Main unless you reappear for your Class 12 exams and qualify in a later year.

For further clarification, you can refer to the official JEE Main brochure released by NTA each year.

I didnt even prepare for jee but i give to consider jee percentile i was only preparing for aeee I was very concerned about it pls answer this does low percentile in JEE affect good marks scored in AEEE

Afreen 7th Jan, 2025

Not at all,a low percentile in JEE will not significantly affect your admission chances if you score well in AEEE, as Amrita University primarily considers your AEEE score for admission, not your JEE percentile.

AEEE is the primary factor:

When applying to Amrita University through AEEE, your performance in the AEEE exam carries more weight than your JEE Main percentile.

Using JEE score for AEEE admission:

While you can use your JEE Main score to apply to AEEE, it's mainly used as an alternative if you haven't taken the AEEE exam, not to directly affect your admission decision.

Check specific requirements:

Always verify the latest admission guidelines on the Amrita University website to ensure you meet all eligibility criteria for your desired program.

What could be the closing time of center for uceed exam as my home is bit far from center and in early morning it would be very cold as well

Sakshi Badoni 7th Jan, 2025

Hello Greetings

For the UCEED exam, candidates are advised to report to the exam center at least 2 hours prior to the commencement of the exam . However, the exact closing time of the exam center isn't specified.

To plan your travel and arrival time, consider the following:

- *Travel Time*: Leave early to account for any unexpected delays due to traffic or weather conditions.

- *Weather Conditions*: As you mentioned, it might be cold in the morning, so dress warmly and consider bringing a hot beverage to keep you cozy while you wait.

- *Security Check*: Factor in time for security checks and other formalities before the exam starts.

It's always better to err on the side of caution and arrive early to avoid any last-minute stress. If you're concerned about the specific closing time, you can try contacting the exam center directly or checking the official UCEED website for more information.

Now Im too much stressed about how Ill clear jee? 11th got wasted due to health issues and I dont know which online batch to follow and what books to do?

Syed Ali 6th Jan, 2025

It's completely understandable that you're feeling overwhelmed after facing so many health challenges during such a crucial phase of your JEE preparation. Here’s a structured approach to help you get back on track:

1. Mental Reset and Motivation

  • Take a deep breath : It’s not too late. Many aspirants crack JEE in just one year of focused preparation.
  • Avoid self-blame : Your health setbacks were beyond your control. Focus on what you can do now.

2. Understand Your Current Situation

  • Identify strong areas (topics you already know well).
  • Make a list of weak areas and topics from Class 11 that need revision.
  • Review the JEE syllabus and prioritize topics that have more weightage.

3. Choose the Right Online Batch

Look for online coaching platforms with structured, fast-track programs for JEE. Some good options:

  • Unacademy : Offers dedicated droppers' courses with live classes and doubt-solving.
  • Physics Wallah : Known for affordable and effective courses, including droppers’ batches.
  • Aakash BYJU’s : Focused study plans and personalized support.
  • Vedantu : Provides interactive classes and tailored learning paths.

4. Recommended Books for JEE

  • Physics :
    • Concepts of Physics by H.C. Verma (Volume 1 & 2)
    • DC Pandey (Arihant Series) for problem-solving
  • Mathematics :
    • RD Sharma (for basics)
    • Cengage Series / Arihant for advanced practice
  • Chemistry :
    • Physical Chemistry: N. Awasthi / RC Mukherjee
    • Organic Chemistry: MS Chauhan
    • Inorganic Chemistry: NCERT (must-read)
  • NCERT : Essential for Chemistry and Mathematics fundamentals.

5. Plan Your Study

  • Daily Schedule :
    • Allocate 6–8 hours/day for focused study.
    • Divide time into:
      • Class 11 revision : 40%
      • Class 12 topics : 50%
      • Mock tests : 10%
  • Weekly Goals : Cover one major topic per subject each week.
  • Use the Pomodoro Technique for better focus.

6. Focus on Class 11 Key Topics

  • Physics : Mechanics, Thermodynamics, SHM
  • Mathematics : Quadratic Equations, Trigonometry, Complex Numbers
  • Chemistry : Atomic Structure, Equilibrium, Chemical Bonding

7. Practice and Mock Tests

  • Enroll in a test series (Allen, FIITJEE, or NTA Abhyas).
  • Solve previous years’ JEE Main and Advanced question papers.
  • Analyze mistakes after every test and focus on weak areas.

8. Stay Healthy and Stress-Free

  • Prioritize your health. Eat nutritious food and stay hydrated.
  • Include light physical activity or meditation to reduce stress.

9. Parental Involvement

  • Share your concerns with your parents and set realistic expectations.
  • Request their support in creating a stress-free environment.

10. Seek Help When Needed

  • Don’t hesitate to ask doubts from teachers, peers, or online mentors.
  • Use apps like DoubtNut or HashLearn for instant doubt-solving.

Final Thoughts:

You have the determination to bounce back. Focus on consistent effort rather than perfection. With a solid plan and perseverance, you can still achieve a great result in JEE!

Cutoff for bba in mh cet in SK somaiya college in 1st merit list

Sakshi Badoni 6th Jan, 2025

Hello Greetings

The cutoff for BBA in MH CET at SK Somaiya College can vary from year to year. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the exact cutoff for the 1st merit list. However, I can provide some insights on how the cutoff is determined and what factors affect it.

The MAH BBA CET cutoff is based on several parameters, including the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the number of seats available ¹. The cutoff marks are released along with each round of MAH CAP counseling.

To give you a better idea, here are some general cutoff trends for MAH BBA CET:

- *Previous Year's Cutoff*: The MAH BBA CET 2024 cutoff for Round 3 was around 55-60 percentile for the Maharashtra state quota ¹.

- *College-wise Cutoff*: The cutoff for SK Somaiya College may vary depending on the number of applicants and the seats available. However, as a general guideline, the college's cutoff is usually around 50-60 percentile.

Keep in mind that these are general trends and not specific to the 1st merit list. I recommend checking the official website of SK Somaiya College or the Maharashtra CET Cell for the latest information on cutoffs and merit lists.
