snehasinha1718 Student Expert 8th Apr, 2021

Hey,

No you don't havr to send your 10th board certificate via post. You already have submitted your application where you might have unloaded  all your documents online. Thr last date for filling the application forms of Banasthali is 30th April. Once you've filled the form there will be an aptitude test conducted by the college. The admission to btech courses is done based on the scores in the aptitude test. Once the test is done the college will prepare a merit list all the students qualified for counselling and documents verification. The aptitude test would be conducted in the firt week of june tentatively.

I hope this helps.

Discuss classification mountains based on their periods and mode of origin

v neeraja 11th Apr, 2021

Mountains are formed due to large scale movements of the earth's crust and the collision of the tectonic plates. Over the history of earth - 9 such movements have taken plates which have resulted in formation of large mountains and mountain ranges.

On the basis of of their mode of origin, mountains are classified into 2 broad categories:

Original or Tectonic Mountains: These mountains are formed due to larege scale movements in the tectonic plates and the resulting collision and folding of plates. These mountains are further classified into Block mountains, Fold Mountains and Volcanic Mountains.

  • Volcanic Mountains:
    • These mountains are formed due to collision of tectonic plates and movement along the plate boundaries which erupt to formed mountains i.e volcanic activity results in formation of these mountains
    • Molten lava, volcanic bombs, cinders, ashes, dust and liquid mudare tha main components of the mountains
    • Most important types of Volcanic Mountains are : Composite cones or Stratovolcanoes and Shield Volcanoes.
    • Mount Fiji and Khilimanjaro are Stratovolcanoes while Mauna Loa on Hawaii is a Shield Volcano.
    • They are common in the Circum-Pacific belt.
  • Fold Mountains:
    • These are formed due to large scale collision of tectonic plates which results in subduction and folding to form mountains
    • Himalaya, Rockies, Andes, Balkan Mountains, Jura, Zagros mountains are some examples
  • Block Mountains:
    • These are formed When a fault block is raised or tilted.
    • Higher blocks are called horsts and troughs are called grabens
    • Examples include Vindhya Range, Satpura Range, Sierra Nevada Range, Rhila Rhodope mountain range etc.

Residual Mountains:

  • Residual mountains are formed as a result of erosion of an existing elevated area. These are the remnants of old fold mountains derived as a result of denudation (strip of covering).
  • Examples include the Aravalli Range, Nilgiri Mountains, Eastern and Western Ghats.

On the basis of of their period of origin, mountains are classified into 3 broad categories:

Since the formation of earth nine very major mountain movements have taken place. However we will mostly discuss only about the most recent 3 movements and the mountain ranges.

  • Precambrian Mountains were formed during the pre-cambrian period which extended for 4 billion years. They were subjected to upheaval, denundation and metamorphosis due to which they now appear like residual mountains. Examples include Laurentian Mountains
  • Caledonian Mountains (430 million years and 380 million years ago ) were formed due to large scaled tectonic movements. Examples include Appalachians, Aravallis, Mahadeo
  • Hercynian Mountains (approximately 340 million years and 225 million years ago ) include ranges like Ural Mountains .
  • Alpine Mountains (65 million years to 7 million years ago) are the most recent formations and are therefore slightly rugged. Examples include rockies, Alpine, Himalayas etc.

Hope this helps

What is the difference between vegetative and asexual mode of reproduction? ( important points ).

Ronak Gala Student Expert 3rd Jan, 2021

Hello,

Vegetative mode of reproduction is a type of Asexual mode of reproduction and it occurs only in plants. It can occur in roots, stem or leaves depending upon the plant. In this type of reproduction new plant is formed from the vegetative part. This type can also be induced artifically. Eg bryophylum, mint, begonia etc

Asexual mode of reproduction occurs in lower animals. There are many modes of Asexual reproduction like budding, fragmentation, fission, spore formation etc. In this way many new organisms are formed. In this mode there is no fusion of gametes. Eg Hydra, algae, amoeba etc

Thanks

what are the differences between aerobic and anaerobic respiration? name some organisms that use the anaerobic mode of respiration

mr.sudhanshu94 15th Nov, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

Aerobic means with oxygen, vs anaerobic which means without oxygen. It’s usually used to describe what type of cellular respiration is occurring. During aerobic respiration, mitochondria use oxygen as the final electron acceptor during the process of breaking down organic carbon, C6H12O6, aka glucose or sugar. In the process of breaking that molecule down and transferring the hydrogens, H, to oxygen, the mitochondria use the energy released in that transfer to renew adenosine triphosphate, ATP. Under idealized situations the final yield is about 16 ATP per oxygen. This is important because ATP is like the dollar currency of the cell, everything that happens uses ATP.

Anaerobic respiration doesn’t use oxygen. The first two steps of aerobic respiration, which breaks down the 6 carbon sugar to two 3 carbon molecules, produces 2 ATP by itself. Anaerobic respiration stops there, with a net gain of two ATP instead of the aerobic net gain of 16 ATP. It also produces waste products like ethanol or lactic acid.

Certain prokaryotes, including some species of bacteria and archaea, use anaerobic respiration. For example, the group of archaea called methanogens reduces carbon dioxide to methane to oxidize NADH. These microorganisms are found in soil and in the digestive tracts of ruminants, such as cows and sheep.

Examples of aerobic exercise include swimming laps, running, or cycling. Anaerobic exercises involve quick bursts of energy and are performed at maximum effort for a short time. Examples include jumping, sprinting, or heavy weight lifting.

Hope this information helps you,

Thank you .

what is the priority order of iiits under ppp mode

Uttara 11th Nov, 2020

Hello,

The Parliament passed the Indian Institutes of Information Technology Laws (Amendment) Bill 2020.The IIIT Laws declares five IIITs in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode - IIIT Bhopal, IIIT Agartala, IIIT Surat, IIIT Bhagalpur and IIIT Raichur as Institutions of National importance. along with existing 15 Indian Institutes of Information Technology under the IIIT PPP Act, 2017.

The priority should always be based on the year of establishments of these iiits according to me as that is beneficial, secondly priority shoul be given to those iiits thare running in and are being mentored by Centralised Colleges as new colleges may lack modern facilities.

All the best!
