It is always better to read newspaper for CURRENT G.K. than trying to grasp all info at once. Some of the newspaper sources which you can use to prepare this section are The Hindu, Financial Express, and The Economist.

In case, you dont like reading newspaper daily, you can go with Manorama Yearbook or Current Affairs Yearly by Arihant for General Knowledge which is published every year.

In order to prepare for STATIC G.K. section, you need to broaden your overall scope in following sections: Sports, Politics, Entertainment, Biographies, etc. So, for this, you can use Static General Knowledge by A.P. Bhardwaj and S. Chands Advanced Objective General Knowledge. These books are okay to start with if you are not someone with a newspaper reading habit from the past.

There are plenty of other books for these topics in the market, but these are by far the most popular as well as helpful books for anyone preparing for entrance exams.

if I only study ncert 12th syabbus and not 11th without the preparation of any jee mains books. I meant just by reading ncert book for chem phy and maths will I be able to get above 100 Marks in Mains exam and get into jee advanced with good recognition to my name pls answer

Akram Khan 23rd Dec, 2019

Hi,

JEE exam is a difficult exam to crack. It requirers lots of study and hardwork to prepare for the exam. For an extraordinary student probably it might be sufficient to read ncert only. But for an average student I think reading only ncert does not work.

For such examination it is equally important to practice the question with theory. Only then you can get an idea about your preparation and how much you can score.

Class 11th syllabus is also equally important because in class 11 the basic concept are given which help further to understand the topics of class 12.

So in my opinion you should practice question from jee main books alongwith the study of ncert. And if your basic of class 11 is strong enough you can skip that. But it will be better if you do a quick revision of class 11 topics.

Hope this help you in your studies.

I have got 155 marks in NTSE RAJASTHAN(OBC category) but I amnt sure about my selection because the last year cutoff was 151(OBC category).Though the paper was at some tougher side cutoff can increase due to increasing competition.Shall I start my preparation for next stage?

Saloni Singh 23rd Dec, 2019

Hello Ayush

Hope you are doing great.

Yes, You should start your preparation for the next round as the cutoff of the previous year score remains almost the same more or less. And since, you have scored more than previous year paper and the question was also tougher than previous year. Then the cutoff is expected to go low because of liberal evaluation due to tough question or is expected to remain the same.

All the best for next level.

Thank-you

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 22nd Dec, 2019

hello,

SAT means Scholastic Assessment Test.  The syllabus has subjects like aptitute, logical reasoning and verbal ability.  This taken by candidates you want to study in US and canada for undergraduate programs.

If you know in which subject you want to go then you can give that particular subject sat exam which includes subjects like Maths,English,Science,History and Language paper.

Books are lots and you can prepare from any book. Most preferable RS Agarwal do the work. You can refer it for whole syllabus and the question bank given is also good.

Hope it helps!
