whether 6 months is enough to prepare for CLAT 2020? And if so please give me some tips for my preparation within 6 months.

Sunanda Dhar Student Expert 16th Sep, 2019

hello there, hope you are doing well.let me tell you that you can prepare for CLAT even in 45 days .There is no issue.

But the thing is -try to utilise your time in a best possible way. For standard G.K, you can prefer ‘LUCENT’ and coming to CURRENT AFFAIRS section refer sites like bankers adda, affairs cloud, and some other best sites.Even, you can subscribe magazines like-’Pratiyogita Darpan’.

Well, coming to the most toughest part that most of the people is-REASONING.The books you must  prefer to crack reasoning are R.S.AGGARWAL’s ’ VERBAL AND NON-VERBAL’ and QUANT.

For L.A ,prefer A.P.BHARDWAJ’S LA&LR.

go through this books and i hope you will find it beneficial

Feel free to ask me in the comment box if you are having any further doubts

hope you find it helpful

Good Luck!

Is there any scope for doing GATE preparation for Nepalese students?

rajaman9300 Student Expert 15th Sep, 2019

Hello Sir

An Institute with various nationalities in its campus will bring in diversity and widen the horizons of an academic environment.

A foreign student brings with him/her own culture, knowledge and wisdom to share with the Indian student and hence result in a healthy mix of cohort. This was a good initiative taken by the GATE 2017 Management Committee  to create a world class learning experience in the field of technology in India. Officials, however, added that seats to be offered to foreign nationals would be supernumerary or additional in nature and would not reduce those available to Indian nationals at the 18 IITs. The foreign students will have to shell out more fees as the subsidised fee, which Indian students pay, would not be applicable to them.

For preparation for mechanical GATE do we have to join classes or there a some particular book from where we can prepare, if yes pleas suggest the books?

Aquil Uzzama 16th Sep, 2019

Hi Aspirant! Hope you're having a great day.

I would like to inform you that cracking gate Mechanical is not that tough because it contains subjects which is all the more difficult that means the questions in exams are easy.

you have plenty of  time to prepare for GATE, so you can definitely aim for 2 digit rank. if  you prepare thoroughly.
self study is best weapon to crack the GATE , try to study yourself, if you are not able to cope up then you can think of coaching more ever you have sufficient time yet.

How to prepare?

1.First go through GATE syllabus completely.

2.Take IES made easy GATE previous year solved paper book.

3.Read standard text books, it will help for both GATE as well as your university exam.

4. Follow below methods for preparation.

  • For   next one week before starting actual study,      try to  read whole  syllabus  once. You must remember entire      syllabus content  throughout the  preparation.
  • Better take 2 subjects at a time (1 Theory sub + 1      problematic sub), so you can handle it better.
  • Before   starting subject, again read respective      syllabus one more time and  go  through previous year questions on      that subject, even  if you  don’t know  the concept and answers      don’t worry, just attempt/read  the question.  (Initially it will take      time but you get familiar  with questions, while  reading you can      easily identify questions  which were asked earlier, you  will get to      know difficulty level  and how to apply concept for that  question).
  • Then  start actual reading of subjects, again       before starting chapter go  through previous question on that chapter       and keep question in  mind then finish chapter and solve previous      year  questions on that  chapter.
  • Every weekend try to revise  what you have  studied      in week days and again solve previous year  questions  related to one      week study..
  • So keep repeat same thing for remaining subjects too      and see the outcome.

Here list of books for GATE preparation.

1. Thermodynamics -- P K Nag.

2. Fluid mechanics -- Bansal/ modi & seth /SOM

(Bansal   is simple and upto the mark.. Modi & Seth is good book for  clearing  concepts.. SOM is good book if you are good in vector  mechanics and  differentail equation)

3. Heat and mass transfer  -- Sachdeva/Holman

(Sachdeva & Holman books are same, fundamentals of Heat and mass transfer by sachdeva is Indian edition of Holman book).

4. SOM -- B.C. Punamia / Timoshenko.

(Punamia   is good for both concept and problems... Timoshenko gives full  clearity  of all concepts but you won't find GATE related problems)

5 . I C engine -- Mathur & Sharma / V Ganeshan

(I   used V ganeshan book its good and have sufficient problems... Mathur   & sharma is aloso good book i heard it from friend but i never used)

6. Material science -- Narula & Narula / Callister / IP Singh

(   Callister is very good but very vast, if you time then refer some   times.. Narula & Narula and IP Singh good books for GATE point of   view).

7. Theory of Machines  and Mechanical vibration– SS Rattan.

8. Machine Design --   Bhandari/ Shigley.

(Bhandari is perfect book for GATE and IES... Shigley is very good book for concept).

9.Refrigeration and Air Conditioning--  P. K Nag /CP Arora Domkundwar

10. Industrial Engg -- O. P. Khanna Buffa & Sarin

(for   Industrial Engg i used hand made notes, so i am not sure of how khanna   book is, you can take help of others to decide the book)

11. Operational research --- kanti swarup/ SD Sharma.

12.Manufacturing   process -- P N Rao Vol 1& 2/ R K Jain/ Hajra & Choudhary/S K   mondal notes which is available in major book houses.

Or A text book on Production Engineering- Dr. Swadesh Singh.

(   while preparing for MP be little choosy and stick to the syllabus,   because as per my knowledge no book will give you  complete  information,  but i am not sure)

13.Mathematics --BS Grewal/Erwin Kreyszig

(Both   books are good, if you like maths then go for erwin kerysing book,   really good book and vast... or else for simple GATE preparation  Grewal;  is more than enough)

14.Aptitude -- As a engineers i don't think we need book for GATE aptitude, but still one can refer Agarwal book..

Im a first year btech student, branch ee, how to start my gate preparation from now so that I may score well in my first attempt, I study in a 3rd tier college.. Pls help me out, and which books should I prefer

Payal 15th Sep, 2019

Hii aspirants

let me clear your doubt.

In first year all the branches study the same thing there is no branch paper. From 2nd year all the branches have to study different subject related to their course. Also in gate exam the question come from 2nd year onwards. So you can start your preparation from 2nd year. At first see the syllabus of gate exam of your stream and then study those topics in detail. And i will suggest you you to solve previous 10 year paper of every topic as you complete each topic.

so start your preparation from 2nd year or 3rd year.

I hope my answer Will help you out

Good luck

How to manage board exams as well as neet preparation?

Diksha gupta 14th Sep, 2019

Hi,

In order to prepare for boards as well as NEET exam at the same time what is necessary is to have a good time table which you need to follow thoroughly. Since the syllabus of NEET and boards is same there won't be much difference but you need to study bit deeper for subjects like physics and chemistry. And the difference is in NEET you need to study of class 11 and 12 but for boards only class 12. So while studying your class 12 syllabus, you need to keep revising 11. But you need to keep in mind your priorities.

In order to know more about NEET preparation you can refer following link-

All the best.

can I clear in jee mains april 2020 april secession by 3 months only jee preparation ? and can get a good % in 12th main boards ?

ANPAM KUMAR Student Expert 16th Sep, 2019

Hey there

3 months preparation for JEE mains can be harsh and in reality very few student can crack the exam just by studying 3 months. So Start preparing for now you have time just put your 100% everyday things will be easier each day if you'll put your efforts regularly if you'll leave things for tomorrow they will become burden. For boards I'll advise that you can get 75% or more just by studying last 3 months if you have build even a little concept earlier but JEE is tough do not take risk

Good luck
