The B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) course started in India around the year 1908 to train teachers professionally. It became more structured after independence. Today, the course is regulated by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education). It is a 2-year program for graduates who want to become school teachers. Aditi Choudhary 16th Jul, 2025

many colleges in India offer the BA.B.Ed integrated course. It is a 4-year program that combines a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This course is designed for students who want to become teachers after Class 12. It saves one year compared to doing BA and B.Ed separately. To know if your college offers this course, visit the official website or contact the college admission office for details.
