I am a biology student I need to know some good courses besides neet that I can pursue which has good future

Saurabh Yadav 4th May, 2025

Hii,

If you're a biology student who isn't taking NEET, there are plenty of decent courses with promising futures.  You can pursue a B.Sc. in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Genetics, Agriculture, Zoology, or Environmental Science.  These lead to positions in laboratories, research, or teaching.

You could also choose paramedical courses such as BPT (Physiotherapy), Nursing, or Lab Technician.  All of these fields are developing and in demand.  Choose what you enjoy, study hard, and you can have a successful career without NEET.

I passed my class 12 ahsec board but failed in chemistry can I still pursue bsc in biology

harsh singh 4th May, 2025

If you failed in Chemistry but passed other subjects in Class 12 AHSEC, you may need to reappear in Chemistry to pursue BSc Biology. Some colleges may allow exceptions, but it's best to check their eligibility criteria. Alternatively, you could explore diploma courses in life sciences.

Ive got 60 in physics 47 in chem 55 in biology and 85 in english. So Ive to give betterment exam for chem to get the passing marks to eligible for neet. So my question is that will I be eligible for neet with only one subject betterment or should I have to give pcb english reappear exam (ahsec board)

Sujal Singh 1st May, 2025

You will be eligible for NEET if you appear for betterment in only Chemistry and pass with the required marks, as long as you meet the minimum aggregate of 50% in PCB for the general category (40% for reserved). No need to reappear in PCB and English.

Iam ST categioery.got 80 marks in Aifset,completed 10+2 in physics,chemistry qith biology.i get a free.seat in govt college?any other state also.

Hey! Kudos to you for your score! As you asked about you admission in govt institutions so, see basically AIFSET meant for provate colleges and connects students there offers bsc + agriculture, forest and etc. Meanwhile government college takes national examinations like NEET, CUET or other state exams which you need to clear. But as you mentioned you belong from st catagory, you may get special recession pr scholarship according to the college policies. So it's unlikely to be in govt college by AIFSET

in biology i got 46 marks excluding 2marks grace and my PCB % is 53.66 can i get admission in medical colleges if i scored a fine marks like 630above , if Ill not able to take admission because of grace then saara mehnaat pani mein jayega

SUKRITI GUPTA 28th Apr, 2025

It's understandable to feel anxious about how grace marks might affect your medical college admission chances, especially after putting in a lot of hard work to score well in NEET. Let's break down the situation.

Firstly, scoring 630 and above in NEET is generally considered a very good score that can secure you a seat in a reputable medical college, depending on the overall competition and cutoffs that year.

Regarding your marks in Biology and the grace marks: the eligibility criteria for NEET typically require you to pass your 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually. Many states and colleges also have a minimum aggregate percentage requirement in PCB in your 12th grade. You've mentioned a PCB percentage of 53.66%, which seems to meet the general eligibility criteria for many medical colleges for the unreserved category (usually 50% aggregate in PCB is required; it might be lower for reserved categories).

The fact that you received 2 marks as grace in Biology should ideally not disqualify you from appearing in NEET or securing admission, provided you meet the overall percentage criteria in PCB and have passed all the required subjects. Grace marks are often awarded by the CBSE to help students pass subjects where they might have narrowly missed the passing criteria. As long as your final marks in Biology, after the grace marks, show you as 'passed' and your aggregate PCB percentage is above the required threshold, it should be acceptable for NEET eligibility.

However, it's crucial to understand the specific admission criteria of the medical colleges you are aiming for. Some colleges might have stricter rules or might consider your original marks before grace in their merit calculation. This is less common for initial eligibility but could potentially play a role in tie-breaking or specific college policies.

Therefore, if you manage to score 630 or above in NEET 2025, your efforts are very likely to pay off and you should have good chances of admission. The grace marks in your Class 12th Biology, as long as they helped you to pass and you meet the overall PCB percentage, should not negate your hard work in NEET. Focus on preparing well for NEET and aim for that good score. Once you have your NEET result, you can then check the specific eligibility and admission criteria of your target medical colleges to be absolutely sure.
