I scored 5 marks in biology with xxxx , 54 in chemistry and 53 in physics.can I get bsc nursing

Jefferson 28th Sep, 2024

Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to us at Careers360 about your options for B.Sc. Nursing.

First off, congrats on completing your exams! Those are solid scores in chemistry and physics. I noticed you mentioned scoring 5 marks in biology - I'm wondering if that might be a typo? Biology is usually pretty important for nursing programs, so if that score is accurate, it could potentially impact your eligibility.

Most nursing programs do look at your overall performance in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), so it's worth double-checking your biology score. If it is indeed 5, you might face some challenges getting into B.Sc. Nursing programs, as they typically require a decent foundation in biology.

That said, every college has its own admission criteria. Some might place more emphasis on overall percentage or entrance exam scores. If you're really passionate about nursing, it might be worth looking into other health science programs or perhaps considering a year of additional study to boost your biology score.

Do you want me to suggest some alternative health science courses that might align with your current scores? Or if you'd prefer, we could look into specific college requirements for B.Sc. Nursing to see where you stand. Just let me know what would be most helpful for you!

I plan to choose Biology, Chemistry and psychology at my IGCSE A levels, can i make a career in genetics.

monag2673 26th Sep, 2024

Yes, choosing Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology at IGCSE A levels can serve as a strong foundation for a career in genetics. Biology and Chemistry are essential subjects for genetics, as they cover key areas like cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry, which are crucial for understanding genetic processes.

**Biology** will help you grasp the fundamental concepts of genetics, such as inheritance, DNA structure, gene expression, and genetic variation. **Chemistry** is important because genetics often involves understanding biochemical reactions and processes like DNA replication, protein synthesis, and molecular signaling. Together, these subjects provide the core scientific knowledge needed for further studies in genetics.

While **Psychology** may not be directly related to genetics, it can complement your studies, especially if you're interested in fields like behavioral genetics, neurogenetics, or genetic counseling, where understanding human behavior and mental processes plays a role.

To pursue a career in genetics, you will likely need to follow up your A levels with a degree in genetics, molecular biology, biotechnology, or a related field. This can open doors to careers in research, healthcare (such as genetic counseling), biotechnology, and personalized medicine.

With the right educational path and passion, you can certainly build a successful career in genetics.

hope this helps you!!

Candidates must complete their 10+2 exams with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their major subjects and obtain a minimum of: in order to be eligible for NEET 2025.

50% of total points in the general category

40% of the total points in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) for the OBC, SC, and ST categories

Considering your grades:

Biology: total = 9 theoretical + 30 practical = 39

Physics: 29 (theoretical) + 30 (practical) = 59 total

Chemistry: 30 theoretical + 30 applied = 60 in total

Hello sir I have a question that I passed class 12 with pcm in 2023 Is I am eligible for neet because I take biology as additional subject from up board.

Kanishka kaushikii 18th Sep, 2024

Yes, you are eligible for NEET. Even though you didn't have Biology as a core subject, taking it as an additional subject in UP Board is sufficient to qualify for the exam.

Please note: While eligibility is based on having Biology as an additional subject, it's important to check the specific eligibility criteria set by the conducting authority (NTA) for that year. There might be additional requirements, such as minimum aggregate marks or specific subject combinations.

is practical exam conducted if i want to take only biology exam from NIOS after completing 12 with math?

monag2673 16th Sep, 2024

If you want to take only the Biology exam from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) after completing your 12th grade with Mathematics, you will need to follow the guidelines set by NIOS for the subject.

NIOS offers flexibility to students by allowing them to appear for additional subjects after completing their board exams in other streams. Since Biology is a science subject that includes both theory and practical components, you will be required to take both the written theory exam and the practical exam, even if you're only adding Biology as an additional subject.

The practical exam is mandatory for all science subjects, including Biology, as it assesses your hands-on understanding of biological concepts. You will need to prepare for the practical exam by studying the prescribed syllabus, which includes experiments, lab work, and practical skills outlined by NIOS.

Ensure that you enroll in a study center that offers practical sessions, as these are essential for preparing for the exam. Once you clear both the theory and practical components, NIOS will provide you with a certificate for the Biology subject. Make sure to check NIOS's official website for updates on exam schedules and practical exam guidelines.

hello sir mam in my board i got 47 in chem and 46 in physics ( in both of the subject I was passed with grace marks ) in biology 63 having grace would affect my selection in neet when I will go for counseling and admission pls tell

Hridaya Rao 14th Sep, 2024
Hello Student,

Grace marks will not affect your selection during NEET counseling or admission as long as you have passed your 12th-grade exams and meet the eligibility criteria. NEET counseling primarily focuses on your NEET score and rank, not how you passed individual subjects in your board exams.
As per NEET eligibility criteria, candidates need to secure at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (40% for reserved categories) in their 12th-grade board exams. If you meet this requirement, you should be eligible for admission.
However, you can always double-check with specific counseling authorities or colleges, as some institutions may have their own rules regarding board exam marks.

Thankyou. Good luck!
