Biomedical Engineering is a vast field which incorporates the knowledge of each & every field of engineering. Our field provides solutions to medical problems using technology.

Research wise:

If you have chosen this branch for a passion of research ,knowing you have good analytical ability, and research aptitude you can opt for higher studies in biomedical engineering stream after their B.Tech in biomedical engineering in India such as IIT, IISc, NIT, BITS, Manipal-SOIS.

Job scope for BMEs:

1.Application engineer- The role of an application engineer is to explain to customer about the working of a specific medical device. Application engineers work hand to hand with sales team.

2.Hospital engineer- Every big hospital has a Biomedical department in which there are typically 5–6 engineers who are responsible to attend to emergency breakdown of any medical equipment.

3. There are companies like Philips, GE, Siemens, Allengers etc. Who are in constant need of young talented engineers in this field & if you are good enough, you will definitely end up in a good job.

4.Some other jobs like clinical engineers,Rehabcare engineers,Bio instrumentation engineers etc.

1. Bachelor of Science (B. Sc)
Scope & Opportunity-
B. Sc. degree is vast. You can work in public or private sector. Another option is opt for is research in their specialisation through higher studies or working with R&D labs.

2. Bachelor of Homeopathic/Ayurvedic/Unani Medicine Surgery (BAMS / BHMS / BUMS)
Scope & Opportunity -
Practice independently
Conduct research in hospitals or R&D facilities
Be a health supervisor
Pursue higher studies (Masters & Ph.D. programmes)
Be a pharmacist specialising in a given medicine type.

3. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
