Since you have had Botany, Zoology (which are Life Science subjects) and Chemistry as your subjects in Bachelor's, you are eligible to pursue Masters in Food nutrition and Dietetics course from any University across India.

So, this university doesn't offer BSc(Hons) in Botany.

Hello dear student !

In order to prepare for BHU pet entrance exam for MSc in Botany , first of all you have to make sure that you downloaded the syllabus and so many previous year's question papers. Just be regular and consistent with your studies. Revise regularly and prefer some good notes for it or the one which you have made while preparing. Study smartly and focus on the topics which are repeatedly asked in the previous year's question papers. Relax and eat healthy and take proper sleep , it is very important for all the exams.

The ancient Greek Theophrastus (371–286 B.C.E.) is known as the father, or founder, of botany.   he was a student of Aristotle who invented and described many of its principles and is widely regarded in the scientific community as the "Father of Botany ". He is famous for his book, "Historia Plantarum". Linnaeus was a Swedish botanist who is famously known as The Father of Taxonomy. He is known for his books "Systema Naturae", "Species Plantarum". Brunfels was a German theologian and Linnaeus considered him as Father of botany in his listings

William Roxburgh (3 or 29 June 1751 – 18 February 1815) was a Scottish surgeon and botanist who worked extensively in India, describing species and working on economic botany. He is known as the founding father of Indian botany.

Hello there,

Both are elaborate courses. You can choose either if them go for teaching job. However if you choose integrated course options to go in other field will still be there as it is an umbrella course.

You can later go for higher education also and do better through any of these courses.

Both degree have it's own benifits,it's you who need to choose what suits you most, after Integrated MSc in biology you can become scientist, researcher, consultant or lecturer, if you do MSc zoology vs or botany,then you can be a lecturer, the only difference is you can outperform if you do PhD after MSc in zoology which will enhance your teaching profession.

You can definitely go for NID MDes once you complete your 3 years bachelor's degree in any stream. So, botany will also do the job. The eligibility criteria says that the candidate must have completed a 4 year or a 3 year bachelor's degree before July to apply for the exam. Diploma candidates can also apply for it. The upper age limit is 30 years as on 30 June, 2020 for general category and 33 years for reserved category. You can get full details on the official website - www.nid.edu.in

Ashok, GATE Life Sciences paper has 3 sections- General aptitude, Chemistry (Section P) and Section Q to U.

Section Q to U has 5 different sections out of which you can select any two of your choice to attempt in the exam. Section Q is Biochemistry, R is for Botany, S is Microbiology, T is Zoology and U is for Food Technology.

All of the courses you mentioned that you thought of doing are very good and promising. It's just that biotechnology is in more demand theses days. You can either do MSc in botany or MSc Biotechnology. You can opt for specialisation such as phytochemistry, plant anatomy, plant genetics, agronomy, horticulture, plant economy etc., The job opportunities after this are -
Horticulturist, researcher, ecologist, plant explorer, conservationist, environment consultant etc.,
