Central Teacher Eligibility Test
Hello,
If you are not able to provide the proof of your category i.e. if you unable to provide the OBC category certificate then you will not be considered as an OBC candidate. Your application won't cancel but you will be considered as a general category student. So, you won't be able to take the benefits provided for OBC candidates.

In order to appear for CTET , apart from passed graduation in the relevant discipline with 50% aggregate, you are also required to have completed BEd/DEd /DElEd or any other NCTE recognized teacher's training program, now coming to your question, as you have completed all the backlogs you are eligible to appear for CTET, there is nothing to worry about, though once you face interview panel for the job recruitment whether it's government schools or even nowadays reputed private schools recruit through CTET scores, you may be asked about this gap year, you only have to handle this situation tactfully in the sense that be thorough with your area of study so that they will get to know they are interviewing a qualified candidates, also if you have experiences in teaching, that's going to add to your advantage, work on your communication skills, confidence, presentation etc, you can also add weightage to your resume by involving yourself in lot of various activities such as volunteering for NGOs, or doing short term courses, today with technological development you can do courses online also through MOOCs, what I'm trying to emphasize here is that just because you have had a year gap, don't let that become a deciding factor of your capability.
