Pompi Bhadra 13th May, 2020
Hello Krishnamohan!
If you want to become a teacher, you need to proceed in the way (whichever applicable to you) mentioned below :-

1. For Primary School Teaching :-
If you are willing to become a PRT (i.e. teaching children generally belonging to the age group of 6-12 years), you can pursue any one of the following courses after qualifying Class 12th Board exams :-
*ETE : Elementary Teacher Education
- Duration : 2 years
-Institutes which you can join for ETE are : District Institution of Education and Training (DIET) in Bhopal, Ramakrishna Teacher Training Institute in New Delhi etc.

*B. El. Ed. : Bachelor's in Elementary Education
- Duration : 4 years
- Institutes offering this course : University of Delhi (DU) , Bansidhar Mahavidyalaya in Uttar Pradesh etc.

*D. El. Ed. : Diploma in Elementary Education
- Duration : 2 years
- Institutes offering D. El. Ed. : District Institute of Education and Training in Tura, Primary Teacher's Education College in Bhojpur etc.

2. For Secondary School Teaching :-
If you want to serve as a TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) and teach the students of Class 6th to 10th, then you can pursue a Bachelor's degree in any teaching subject, preferably - B.Com. (Honours) or any subject from humanities stream of your choice.
After completing your graduation, you will have to pursue Bachelor's in Education (B. Ed.) course from any recognized institute. This course is of 2 years duration.
- Institutes that offer B. Ed. course are :- University of Delhi, Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University, Banaras Hindu University and many others.

3. For Senior Secondary School Teaching :-
If you want to work as a PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) and teach students of Class 11th and 12th, then after completing your graduation in any teaching subject, you will have to pursue a post-graduate degree or Master's degree in any relevant discipline (for eg. M.Com. if you are interested).
-You also need to have completed your B. Ed. from a recognized college or university in addition to this.
Also, for teaching in Central and State govt. schools and colleges, you will have to qualify CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test - for schools under central govt. like Kendriya Vidyalayas) or STET (State Teacher Eligibility Test - for institutes under a particular State govt.).

4. For Teaching in Higher Educational Institutes :-
If you want to teach the students of colleges and universities and become a Lecturer or Professor, then after getting your Masters' degree, you will have to qualify UGC-NET (acceptable in institutes all over India) or SLET examination (acceptable only in the institutes of a particular state which is conducting the exam).
Remember that a degree in B.Ed. is not required to become a Lecturer/Professor.

Feel free to ask if you have any further queries in this regard.

I hope this answer will help you.

I am in class 12 from commerce stream without maths so will bcom pass will be a good course for me to opt for in Kirorimal or Ramjas college ?

Nimisha Gupta 13th May, 2020

Arash, maths is not the most important subject for a commerce student.  Though it gives the added benefit of doing Bcom Hons from great colleges but Bcom pass is equally a good course for the students. So if you want the admission in the college the foremost thing is having a good percentage. If you have scored nicely you can get admission in any renowned college of your choice be it Kirorimal or Ramjas. You should score atleast a minimum of 96% in your 12th board to get admission in DU colleges.

Several of my friends had commerce without maths and they got admission in good colleges.

You can easily pursue another course with your bcom degree like CA, CS, actuarial science etc. It is not important to limit yourself to just Bcom pass.

Focus on the main subjects like Accountancy, English, Economics and Business studies. Make these subjects as your strong points. If you are able to score above 95% in these then you can easily get admission in any renowned college.

All the best for your studies and do well.

I am from commerce stream without maths and I want to do bcom so Ramjas will be a better option or kirorimal college ? and which has the highest placement packages ?

Smeet Almeida 13th May, 2020

Greetings, aspirant!

Ramjas College as well as Kirori Mal College are both affiliated with DU and are some of the better colleges in the country.

Ramjas College offers placements in reputed companies such as Deloitte, KPMG, Lloyd and such. The average annual package for students is around 5L p.a. and internships fairs are held every so often to provide exposure to students.

Kirori Mal College is no slouch in the placements department either and offers placements in MNCs such as Deloitte, Ernst and Young, Wipro and such. Average annual package is about 4.5L p.a. and all year round internships are offered by KMC as well.

So in the end, it all comes down to your preferences and conveniences.

Hope this information helped you!

Best of luck!

l am from commerce stream without maths so doing bcom from Ramjas or kirorimal will be beneficial for me or not and will get a good place or not ?

iammohdshareef 12th May, 2020
Hello,
.
Look, first point is a B.com is not at all a stream of math's category, C.com is all about business, account and commerce. So, you need not worry about the lack of maths subject. Few top reputed institutions ask for math's and even here maths is optional subject which can be replaced with accountancy. Now ofcourse it will be beneficial to get into admission in any of the Colleges you mentioned. Both the college's assure placement guarantee unless you are weak in your grades. Here are the link of both the Colleges can check for further details

I am in class 12 from commerce stream without maths so I wanted to know the cut off precentage for bcom pass in hans raj college

Ankit Dahiya Student Expert 12th May, 2020
Hello
Hansraj College college does not offer B.Com pass course. It offers only B.Com Hons course.
The eligiblity criteria for admissions to B.Com Hons course in University of Delhi is that the candidate should have passed class XII with Mathematics as compulsory subject. So, you can not take admissions in B.Com hons.
However there are many other colleges in Delhi University which offer B.Com pass course like
  • Kirori Mal College
  • Ramjas College
  • Motilal Nehru College
  • PGDAV

Can I apply for paracammando with commerce stream . If I can then is there any difficulty with this stream

Pankhuri Kumari 8th May, 2020
Hii Mohit!
The quickest way to reach into the way for becoming a paracommando is via NDA entrance examination. And the eligibility criteria for NDA in terms of qualification states that the candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent exam from a recognised Board of education froma my subject stream, that too, when you apply for Army. For Navy and Air force you need to have Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects. So, apply for Army in NDA. After completing the degree in NDA, you will be sent to IMA where you can volunteer for PARA during the last term.

So, having commerce stream is not a problem.

Hope this helps.
Good luck!

i am currently beginning my plus 1 class opting commerce stream in icse board. I want to appear in clat simultaneously after by twelfth boards. And the major thing is i want to take online coaching for clat for these consecutive two years. So what all books should I refer and classes to score high?

rehan18alam Student Expert 5th May, 2020

Dear Aspirant

The CLAT exam syllabus has changed this year and shift to more aptitude side then remembering things. The no.of questions reduced from 200 to 120/125 but the time duration will be the same that is 2 hours.

Here are few tips for preparation you must follow to get a good score without coaching:-English: Vocabulary questions will be asked. Word Power Made Easy is the book you can use to improve your vocabulary.

High School Grammar and Composition ( by Wren and Martin)It is a book  to improve the grammar skills.

GK: Question on current affairs will be asked. Read newspaper for CURRENT G.K. than trying to grasp all info at once. Some of the newspaper sources which you can use to prepare this section are The Hindu, Financial Express, and The Economist. You can also use some other apps like Inshorts etc for current affairs.Mathematics: Only Data based questions will be asked. Like you have some information and questions on basis of that information.Logical Reasoning: Data tables, Data Charts, Bar Diagrams, Pie Charts, Graphs, Data Comparison and Analysis. These are some of the topics on which you can expect questions.

Can I get admission in SRCC in commerce stream without maths

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 2nd May, 2020
Hi Arsh khan

SRCC i.e Shree Ram College of Commerce is a college of Delhi University.

Now , as eligibility criteria of Delhi University , to be eligible for Bcom hons. you must have studied either mathematics or business mathematics in your 10+2 .

So, yes you can do Bcom hons. in SRCC even if you haven't studied mathematics in 10+2 provided you must have studied business mathematics in your 10+2 .

But if you have not studied either of Mathematics or Business Mathematics in your 10+2 , then I am sorry but you cannot get admission in Bcom hons in SRCC or any other Colleges of DU
